Mark Williams has served as Minister of Music at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, Waycross, GA since October of 1991.  Mark was born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Bradenton, FL where he graduated from Manatee High School in 1984.  He was licensed to the ministry in 1986 and ordained in 1991 by the Pleasant Grove FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH in Dallas, Texas when he was attending seminary.  Mark earned a bachelor of music concentrating in voice and church music at Stetson University (1988) in DeLand, Florida and  earned a Master of Music from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (2001) in Fort Worth, Texas.  He has previously served as minister of music at Flomich Avenue Baptist in Holly Hill, Florida from 1985 to 1987; First Baptist Church, Orange City, FL from 1987 to 1988; and Pleasant Grove First Baptist Church in Dallas, TX from 1989 to 1991.  Mark is currently a member of the Hymn Society of American and the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers.  He sings and tours annually with the nationally recognized men’s choral, The CenturyMen under the direction of Buryl Red.  Mark also sings with the Georgia Baptist Ministers of Music in the Sons of Jubal Chorus.  He is married to Susan who teaches social studies at Waycross Middle School.  They have two children, David (1995) and Emily (2000).
