ON TRACK DISCIPLESHIP
Helping Our Community Stay on Track

OUR MISSION

What We Do

To glorify God by helping our community stay on track with Jesus—growing in His Word, connecting in real relationships, and multiplying disciples who experience real life in Christ and help change the world.

Our mission is our daily calling. It shapes every ministry, every gathering, every relationship, and every opportunity to serve. Everything we do should help people take their next step in following Jesus.

OUR VISION

What We See God Doing

We envision a thriving community of transformed disciples who passionately love God, authentically love people, and intentionally make disciples—renewing families, strengthening our church, serving Waycross, and impacting the world with the hope of Jesus Christ.

Our vision paints a picture of the future we believe God is leading us toward. As people are transformed by the gospel, families are restored, the church grows stronger, our community is impacted, and the hope of Christ reaches the nations.

OUR CORE VALUES

Biblical Truth
God's Word is our foundation and final authority. We believe lives are transformed as people hear, study, obey, and apply Scripture.
Authentic Relationships
We believe spiritual growth happens best in genuine community. We encourage one another, carry one another's burdens, and walk through life together.
Intentional Discipleship
Disciples are made, not born. We intentionally invest in people, helping them grow in Christ and equipping them to disciple others.
Missional Living
Every believer is sent by God to live on mission at home, in our community, and around the world. We are called to demonstrate and proclaim the gospel wherever God places us.

OUR DISCIPLESHIP PATHWAY
Connect • Grow • Disciple • Multiply

Discipleship is not an event—it is a lifelong journey.

CONNECT
Build authentic relationships through worship gatherings, fellowship, and biblical community.
GROW
Develop a deeper relationship with Christ through God's Word, prayer, Small Groups, and a consistent personal walk.
DISCIPLE
Walk alongside others in intentional relationships that encourage accountability, spiritual maturity, and obedience to Christ.
MULTIPLY
Use your gifts, invest in others, and live on mission so that disciples make disciples and the gospel reaches our community and the world.

OUR DISCIPLESHIP ENVIRONMENTS

OUEvery environment has a purpose.

Large Group Gatherings
We Gather
Sunday Worship, Men's Gatherings, Women's Gatherings, and church-wide events inspire us through worship, biblical preaching, and shared vision.
Small Groups
We Learn
Bible studies create space for teaching, discussion, application, and authentic community.
Ally Groups
We Grow
Small, gender-specific groups of 3–8 people provide accountability, encouragement, prayer, and intentional discipleship.
These are our "2 a.m. friends."
Personal Walk
We Abide
Every disciple develops a daily rhythm of spending time with God through Scripture, prayer, worship, and obedience.

OUR FOUNDATION

Everything we do rests on two unchanging rails:

The Great Commandment
Love God. Love People.
Matthew 22:37–40
The Great Commission
Make Disciples.
Matthew 28:18–20
These two rails keep us moving in the direction God intends and provide the foundation for every ministry and every next step.

OUR NEXT STEP PHILOSOPHY

No matter where someone begins, there is always a next step.
  • Know Jesus
  • Belong to His Church
  • Grow in His Word
  • Serve with Your Gifts
  • Multiply by Making Disciples
Our role is simply to help people discover and take that next step.

OUR MOTTO

No one rides alone.
We believe following Jesus is a journey best experienced together. We are committed to helping every person find authentic relationships, biblical community, and encouragement as we stay on track with Jesus.

OUR PRAYER

May First Baptist Waycross become a thriving community of transformed disciples whose love for Christ changes homes, strengthens the church, blesses our city, and carries the hope of the gospel to the ends of the earth—all for the glory of God.
