Get On Track with Jesus

Every Journey Begins with a First Step

We believe God created you for something more than simply existing. He created you to know Him, walk with Him, and experience the life only He can give.
Our mission at First Baptist Waycross is simple:
Helping our community stay on track with Jesus.
If you've never begun that journey, today can be your first step.

God Created You for Relationship

From the very beginning, God's desire has been to know you personally. You are not an accident or an afterthought. You were created by a loving God who invites you into a relationship with Him.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
God's love is not something you earn. It is a gift He freely offers.

Sin Takes Us Off Track

The problem is that every one of us has chosen our own way instead of God's way.
The Bible calls this sin.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:23
Sin separates us from God and leaves us searching for meaning, purpose, and peace in places that can never truly satisfy.
No amount of good works, religion, or personal effort can put us back on track.

Jesus Makes a Way

The good news is that God did not leave us lost.
Because He loves us, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to do what we could never do for ourselves.
Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again so that we could be forgiven and restored to God.
"God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8
Jesus Himself said,
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
John 14:6
Jesus is not simply a better path. He is the only way to a restored relationship with God.

Your First Step

Knowing about Jesus is different from following Jesus.
The Bible calls us to repent—to turn from trusting ourselves—and place our faith completely in Christ.
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Romans 10:13
You can begin that relationship today.
You may pray something like this:
Jesus, I know I need You. I confess that I have sinned and gone my own way. Thank You for dying for me and rising again. Today I place my trust in You as my Savior and Lord. Forgive me, make me new, and help me follow You every day. Thank You for giving me eternal life and putting me on a new path with You. Amen.
The prayer itself does not save you—Jesus does. But when you genuinely place your faith in Him, He forgives your sins, gives you new life, and welcomes you into His family.

You're On Track...Now Keep Walking

Following Jesus is not the finish line. It's the beginning of a lifelong journey.
As you grow, God will shape your heart, strengthen your faith, and use your life to make a difference in the lives of others.
At First Baptist Waycross, we encourage every believer to continue growing through four simple environments:
Worship Together
Gather with God's people each week to celebrate what He has done and hear His Word proclaimed.
Study Together
Join a Small Group where you can learn God's truth and build authentic relationships.
Walk Together
Connect with an Ally Group—a few trusted believers who will encourage you, pray with you, and help you stay faithful.
Walk with God Daily
Spend time every day reading Scripture, praying, and listening to the Lord as He transforms your life.

No One Rides Alone

One of our core values is Authentic Relationships.
God never intended for us to follow Jesus by ourselves. We need people who will encourage us, challenge us, and walk beside us.
Whether this is your first step or your next step, we would love to walk with you.

Ready for Your Next Step?

If you've placed your faith in Christ, we would love to celebrate with you and help you continue your journey.
Your next step may be:
· Tell someone about your decision.
· Be baptized as a public declaration of your faith.
· Join a Small Group or Ally Group.
· Begin reading God's Word and praying daily.
· Connect with one of our pastors or ministry leaders.
