A YEAR IN THE WORD-2023-"How can one keep their way pure? By keeping it according to Your Word. With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me wander from Your commandments. I have treasured Your Word in my heart, so that I may not sin against You. Blessed are You, Lord; teach me Your statutes."
-Psalm 119:9-12 One of the best avenues for deepening any relationship is spending time together, and if we want to know Christ more, then one of the best ways we can deepen that relationship is to spend time reading God's Word.
This year, we are committing to reading God's Word together as a Family of Faith by participating in a yearlong challenge to read the Bible through. Whether you have read it through before or whether this is your first time, it is always easier and more meaningful to share the experience with others. Beginning January 1st, 2023, we will begin a 1-year journey through God's Word together. We will be following The Gospel Coalition's daily reading plan based upon Robert Murray M'Cheyne's (1813-1843) classic Bible reading schedule. If committed to, the M'Cheyne plan will take readers through the Old Testament once, and the New Testament and Psalms twice in a calendar year. We would love to have you join us this year! Below you will find several resources to help with and enrich your journey. Download (or sign-up for) your Daily Reading Plan today and be ready to begin with the coming New Year. We are praying with you and for you as we Read, Consider, and Apply God's Word to our daily lives throughout the coming year. getting startedConnect with the First Baptist Church - A Year in the Word Group Page on Facebook for questions, discussion, reflection, and sharing the

**NOTE: Originally M'Cheyne listed two columns labeled “Family” and two labeled “Secret”. He intended that the Scripture listings in the “Family” columns be read in family devotions, and those in “Secret” columns be read privately, in personal devotions.
